Every four years, large companies are obliged to carry out an independent energy audit, which is then notified to the Energy Regulatory Authority. Who is required to carry out an energy audit of an enterprise?
By law, any large enterprise is obliged to do this. In Poland, there are about 4 thousand entities.
Does the obligation apply to an enterprise that has changed its status from an SME to a large one?
Yes, the requirement applies to any large company regardless of previous status.
What happens if the company does not conduct a mandatory energy audit of the enterprise?
In case of failure to fulfill this obligation, the company may incur a penalty of up to 5% of its income.
What does the price of an energy audit of an enterprise depend on?
The cost of the study depends, among others, on the size of the audited enterprise, the number of processes or the number of plants.
What actions should be taken during the audit?
Within 30 days from the preparation of the study, the President of the Energy Regulatory Office must be notified of the execution of the audit. The notification must be accompanied by information on the energy savings that can be achieved. The audit document must be kept for control purposes for a period of 5 years.
