Optimization of the thermal capacity ordered in your properties

We carry out analyses related to the ordered thermal power in your buildings. Optimization of this parameter reduces fixed costs incurred for network heat.

Optimization of ordered heat output

The cheapest and most environmentally friendly energy is the one that we do not consume. One of the first steps to be taken on the road to energy savings in property management is to optimize the ordered capacity, e.g. in the context of thermal energy. This applies to consumers of network heat.

In most cases, the value of the ordered power is more or less oversized, and the charge for the ordered power can be up to 30% of the total heat charges! Optimizing the ordered power is a simple way to reduce the cost of heating your building.

A key step on this path is the analysis, in which we examine the settlements with the supplier for the ordered thermal capacity for the last 3 to 5 years. Such a statement may clearly demonstrate the justification for the change in the requested thermal capacity.

In the case of heat, of course, it is possible to change the tariff group, but this depends on, for example, a change in the heat source or heating network from which the heat is supplied. A customer qualifies for a tariff group because of, for example, the heat source to which it is connected. That is, changing the tariff group is often difficult to achieve. However, there is another solution that we offer to our customers.

It refers precisely to the change in the ordered thermal capacity. It shall be fixed by the customer for at least 12 months and may be amended only within the period specified in the contract for the sale of heat or in the contract for the provision of transmission or distribution services or in the comprehensive contract. As a rule, the date by which you can make a change in the ordered thermal power is June 30.

Changes to the heat supply contract for a building must be made when:

  • modernization of the heating system or domestic hot water has been carried out or the thermal modernization of the building has been carried out, which has affected the reduction of the heat demand of the building,
  • the buildings were modernised by installing heating cost allocators and the analysis showed a reduction in the building's demand for thermal energy,
  • analysis of heat energy billing for the building in recent years or heating seasons showed a decrease in the demand for thermal energy for central heating and domestic hot water,
  • modernization or thermo-modernization of the building is planned, which will affect the reduction of the thermal energy demand of the building, which is demonstrated in the performed energy audit or renovation of the building.

How do we work to optimize the thermal capacity ordered for the property?

1

Valuation of works, determination of costs with the client, signing a contract.

1

Obtaining information from the Client in the scope allowing to create a thermal model of the building.

1

Creation of a thermal model of a building in the Auditor OZC program

1

Entering the results into a spreadsheet.

1

Comparison of the results of the design thermal load of the building and the design capacity with the actual power ordered for the purposes of central heating and domestic hot water.

1

Analysis of the differences between the results obtained and a possible proposal to reduce the ordered capacity.

1

Analysis of partitions for heat loss and presentation of possibilities to reduce them.

1

Preparation of the final version of the report.

1

Settlement with the client.

1

If it is possible to reduce the ordered capacity — submit an application to change the current capacity ordered from the heat supplier.

Do you have any questions? We have the answers!

It is about checking that the current power ordered reflects the real heat demand of the building. In the event of a power reduction, the Investor can easily reduce the heating costs of his property.

The deadline for submitting applications for changing the ordered capacity is specified in the contract with the heat supplier. However, its implementation most often occurs with the onset of the heating season.

The culmination of the work on the optimization of the ordered capacity is a report, from which it is directly clear what the ordered power will be suitable for a particular property. In the next step, you need to apply for a power reduction. According to the requirements of most suppliers, it should include a supporting document, e.g. calculation of heat demand or energy audit.
